Hello.  My name is Scott Farbman and I will be blogging live from The Sharing Village Holiday Gala tonight.

I created this blog as a demonstration to a potential client on how social media (mostly Twitter and Facebook) would be able to help market his business.  That was Wednesday.  I caught a bit of a wind in my social network sails and generated a small, but influential group of followers.  I was asked to attend tonight’s festivities and blog about it. 

I am so pleased and honored to be given the opportunity to help this effort in my own special way.  I am currently fighting my own little battle with thyroid cancer and will be receiving radioactive iodine treatments on Thursday.  The kids that will be there tonight have put up with much more aggressive forms of cancer and other illness.  They have demonstrated their strength.  They are my role models.  I will learn something from them tonight. 

I have 45 minutes to get changed and drive over for the red carpet.  See you there!
