I started the practice of personally greeting new twitter followers. I did this because I am offended by the robot auto-replies that I get when I follow someone. I figured I would send someone a “Hello, Thanks for Following, I’m not a robot.” message.
My first victim test-case was a man from Morristown, NJ. I sent a DM to him that included my email address. I put one of my kids to bed and started working on something else. To my surprise, I received an email from him. How awesome is that? He informed me that he is a contributing editor to a non-profit website.
This I have to see. I hop on over to www.WildRiverReview.com. The website’s tag-line is “Connecting People, Places, and Ideas: Story by Story”. Very nice idea. I have been looking for something to read that would not involve Tiger Woods or other current celebrity train wrecks.
My next stop was the Donate page. “As communication through the tremendous capacity of the web paves the way for news coverage from every angle, Wild River Review tells stories that shed light on dark corners of the globe, helping readers understand complicated issues often through the power of first hand stories and interviews.” Wow, that is quite a statement. Browsing through the articles and columns from this month’s issues, I see that they were not joking.
The WRR is not a quick read. You have to carve out some time in your day to read it. Commuters on mass transit will love this material. I am saving the interview with the daughter of Orson Welles for my next visit to the coffee shop.
Thank you Warren for introducing me to this treasure chest of intellectually stimulating material. I feel smarter just having it bookmarked.

Happy to see that there are blog owners that care about their blogs and not write all kind of unuseable stuff but rather try to keep it ideal and precious for the interest of their readers. The only way I could see the UFC even getting close to getting Rampage is if they were somehow able to get him involved with TUF 4 as a coach or something. Because that would guarantee Rampage not only exposure and instant stardom but also the biggest sponsors. Outside of something like that I don’t see how the UFC could land Rampage.

Food for thought, (or rather, those bits I could easily read). I am color blind (deuteranopia in my case). I mostly use Safari browser (no idea if that matters), and a great deal of your site is hard for me to read. I know that it is not your problem really, nonetheless it would be kind if you would bear in mind us color challenged types when carrying out your next webpage redesign.
